Are you ready to lead a pod of accountants helping great small businesses grow? In this role, you’ll be leading client engagements with a team of senior and staff accountants. Your combination of technical expertise and people skills allow you to consult clients through their financial statements and toward critical business insights. This position requires a high degree of integrity, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize a number of deadlines. As a Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis, you will:
  • Oversee the efforts of a team of 3-4 accountants managing multiple client engagements in a wide variety of industries with scope and budget.
  • Provide ongoing consulting to clients, including recommending tactical and strategic actions based on business objectives and accounting standards.
  • Communicate effectively and act as a trusted business advisor to clients and mentor to teammates.
  • Act as an Engagement Lead managing complex client relationships amongst multiple team members working on several parallel projects.
  • Lead new client onboarding efforts including accounting process improvement and bookkeeping cleanup efforts.
  • Research and answer technical questions and provide technical guidance to clients and the entire CFOshare team.
  • Lead client discovery, review information provided, and recommend modifications in procedures to set up and adjust controls for GAAP compliance.
  • Create, maintain, and improve supporting schedules which clearly and accurately calculate financial statement balances, including asset and liability accruals.
  • Collaborate on the creation of methodologies and processes for the team.
  • Analyze and summarize current financial status by collecting and reporting on information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
  • Review documents and reconcile discrepancies in client financials.
  • Assist with formal performance evaluations of team members.
  • Review the work of others for accuracy and completeness.
  • Lead the coordination and onboarding of new accounting clients.

Requirements:
  • Excellent Emotional Intelligence and communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • 10+ years of hands-on accounting experience
  • Advanced understanding of US GAAP accounting and reporting standards
  • Advanced experience with month-end and year-end close processes
  • Advanced experience using an electronic accounting system
  • Outstanding computer skills, especially Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience managing a team of people
  • Deadline and detail orientation
  • Strong technical skills and deep understanding of at least 1-2 industries or markets
  • Project management experience

Preferred:
  • Active CPA license
  • Master’s degree
  • Experience reviewing and correcting internal controls
  • Experience working in a small, high growth company
  • QuickBooks Online experience
  • Experience with a variety of AP, AR, and payment processing programs
  • Experience working with multiple legal entities or clients at once
  • Sales, Income, and/or Payroll Tax experience
